Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has come up with a new suggestion for T20 cricket. He wants more than a six if a batsman hits the ball over 100 meters.
Taking to Twitter, Pietersen wrote that 12 runs should be awarded to the batsman if he manages to hit the ball over 100 meters. He also tagged England cricket and suggested them to bring this change in their new 100-ball format.
"I want an addition to the rules in T20 cricket! Or, @englandcricket can do it in the 100. If a player hits a 6 that goes over 100m, I want a 12 awarded! @ICC," he tweeted.

Pietersen explained the benefits of this new rule in another tweet. He feels it will keep a game alive till the last ball and can add excitement.
"The pluses for a 12, for a shot that travels over 100m: 1. No game is really over till it’s over. 2. It adds real excitement. 3. Broadcasters have new equations around the possibilities of 12s being hit. 4. New revenue stream as they can be sponsored. Watch this space...!," he wrote.
The interesting suggestion by the ex-cricketer got a mixed response on his tweet. Few felt it's not a good idea to add this new rule. Some even joked that if the stump gets uprooted, two batsmen should be given out.
