Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif believes the free-hit rule is harming cricket. He said the bookies may eye this rule and it can affect the whole team if an individual is involved.

Rashid posted a tweet to write that the rule may bring more corruption to the game. He tagged the official Twitter handles of ICC, IPL, PSL, ICC Anti-Corruption official Steve Richardson, BBL, and even mentioned BCCI.

The rule was introduced in 2007 and it says the delivery followed-up by a no-ball will be a free hit for any batsman facing it. The batter can't be given out unless a run-out, hitting the ball twice, and obstructing the field.

Recently, ICC banned former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak for sharing inside information with a bookie during his coaching stint with different teams.

Streak was also the bowling coach of Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017 before being roped in by KKR in 2018 as Lakshmipathy Balaji's replacement.
