Sachin Tendulkar shouldn't have gotten admitted to the hospital: Maharashtra minister

Former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar was admitted to the hospital recently after being diagnosed with COVID -19. He was discharged from the hospital after his recovery from the virus.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra minister Aslam Shaikh has said that celebrities who don’t have serious COVID-19 symptoms should not occupy hospital beds in Mumbai.

While talking to ANI, Shaikh said, “Celebrities who are asymptomatic should take treatment at home, not occupy beds in the hospital. Some celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar did not need to get admitted to the hospital. Beds should be left for the needy.

Tendulkar who was a part of the Road Safety World Series Challenge was one of the four players - Irfan and Yusuf Pathan and S Badrinath – to test positive for the virus on March 27.

As the number of cases is increasing, the government of Maharashtra has induced tighter restrictions, but the government has made it clear that the IPL matches to be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai won’t be affected by the night curfews imposed all over the state.
