Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who was tested positive for the novel Coronavirus last week, on Friday (April 2) informed that he has been hospitalised under medical advice.
Taking to Twitter, the cricket icon wrote: “Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised.”
April 2, 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of India’s historic 2011 World Cup triumph and Tendulkar also wished the fellow countrymen and his teammates on this occasion.
“I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone. Wishing all Indians & my teammates the 10th anniversary of our World Cup win,” he further wrote.
Apart from Tendulkar, Pathan brothers Yusuf and Irfan, S Badrinath also returned COVID-19 positive last week. Notably, all four of them recently took part in the Road Safety World Series in Raipur.
Under Tendulkar’s captaincy, India Legends defeated Sri Lanka Legends in the final to win the tournament, which was played in the presence of the crowd.
Confirming his diagnosis, Tendulkar had said he has 'mild symptoms' and will be isolating himself at home as advised by the doctors.
