Sachin Tendulkar tests positive for Coronavirus, goes into home quarantine

Tendulkar recently took part in the Road Safety World Series tournament.

Sachin Tendulkar | GettyIndian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. The cricket icon took to social media to confirm the news.

Tendulkar has 'mild symptoms' and has decided to isolate himself at home as advised by the doctors.

"I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure Covid is kept at bat. However, I've tested positive today following mild symptoms. All other at home have tested negative," Sachin tweeted on Saturday (March 27).

"I've quarantined myself at home and am following all necessary protocols as advised by my doctors," he added.

The former India skipper also thanked the healthcare professionals for their constant support.

"I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country," Tendulkar said.

Sachin Tendulkar recently participated in the Road Safety World Series tournament in Raipur. He led India Legends to the title win by defeating Sri Lanka Legends in the final.

The COVID-19 cases have been on a rise in Maharashtra with over 36,000 positive cases recorded on Friday (March 26).
