The first-ever captain to win two cricket World Cups, West Indies' Clive Lloyd, has hailed the current Team India as 'the best Indian team ever' judging them on the basis of their performance in the recent Test series in Australia.

Team India lost the first Test in Adelaide where they were bowled out for their lowest-ever Test score of 36. They also lost their skipper Virat Kohli for the rest of the series as he flew back home for the birth of his first child. Marred by injuries, Team India came back stronger in the next three Tests and went on to beat the Aussies 2-1.

Clive Lloyd has been in awe of that performances down under and has regarded this team as the best India ever had. Not to forget, the 'Big Cat' has played against India's first-ever World Cup winning squad.

Lloyd told The Telegraph, "They are a much better side because they have variety, the players are fitter and more professional... Yeah, I would think so... Don’t forget they came from behind most times in Australia and that was excellent. Judging by their performances from that series you can say that this is the best Indian team ever."

The 76-year-old also praised Jasprit Bumrah for being a thinking bowler and helping Team India reach such great heights.

"He’s (Bumrah) thinking all the time and can surprise you any time. He can bowl the vicious bouncer, he can get the ball to swing around, he bowls the slower ones. That is why India are where they are at the moment. He can provide breakthroughs at a time when the side is struggling," Lloyd said.
