Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has on Friday (March 19) announced the revised schedule for the home Test series against Bangladesh that was to earlier postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sri Lanka was originally scheduled to host Bangladesh in a three-match Test series in October-November 2020, but the rising COVID-19 cases in South Asian Island forced the SLC to postpone the home series.
Well, SLC has now confirmed Bangladesh’s Test tour of Sri Lanka on Friday, but this time, the two teams will play only two Test matches next month at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
The SLC said in a statement, “Bangladesh team will arrive in Sri Lanka on the 12th April 2021 for a Two Match Test Series, played under the World Test Championship. The series originally was scheduled to be played during October November 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The Lankan cricket board has also revealed that Bangladesh will arrive in Sri Lanka on 12 April with the opening Test beginning on 21 April followed by the final Test on 29 April – both in Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy. The Test series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship, said the SLC.
Noteworthy, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will also play the intra-squad warm-up game on April 17 and 18 before the two-match Test series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium next month.
