BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has praised his former India teammate and current head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, for his tremendous work on building the bench strength for the Indian team.
He praised Dravid for his work behind the development of players such as Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. And further lauded both players for stepping up whenever they have got an opportunity for the team.
He also used the recent Australia tour as an example, where India beat the home side 2-1 in the Test series despite losing key players to injuries right from the first Test onwards.

“I always say that Rahul Dravid has done a great job at the NCA (in Bangalore) as he looks after the second-string players. Mohammed Siraj, you know I see a lot of talent in him, Shardul Thakur every time they have got opportunities they have just stood up.
We spoke about Bumrah for all of last year, but India wins without him as well. In Australia, the last Test match, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, no Ishant Sharma in the squad, and you beat Australia in Australia. That's remarkable,” Ganguly said in an exclusive interview on India Today.
