Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni paid a visit to Ranchi’s iconic Deori temple. Dhoni sought blessing from Goddess Durga before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

The Jharkhand cricketer regularly visits the temple and it has made the holy place famous among the locals. The main attraction is the 700-year-old idol of the Goddess Durga which has 16 Hands.

Dhoni had paid a visit to the temple last year too ahead of the IPL 2020 before the tournament was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Temple authorities confirmed that there was a huge crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of Dhoni.

“We were aware of his visit in advance and administration was in the loop. An hour before he was to come, local police deployed additional security personnel to avoid any chaos at the temple.

"No matter whether he plays or not, he continues to be the biggest crowd puller,” a priest was quoted by Telegraph India.

The pictures of Dhoni's latest visit to the temple were posted by his fans on Twitter. He can be seen accompanied by his friend Simat Lohani aka Chittu, as per a report in Telegraph.
