Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has impressed one and all with his brilliant all-round performance on Sunday (February 14) in the Police Shield Cricket Tournament ahead of the mini-auction for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

The 21-year-old left-hander cracked a brilliant 31-ball 77 and then returned with impressive figures of 3/41 in the Police Shield Cricket Tournament organized under the sponsorship of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) – the first cricket competition in Mumbai since the COVID-19-forced lockdown.

He hit five fours and eight sixes during his blistering knock. Apart from Arjun's superb efforts with the bat, the middle order-batsman Pragnesh Kandillewar hammered a century while Kevin D’Almeida making 96 to help MIG Cricket Club post a mammoth 385/7 in 45 overs against Islam Gymkhana.

In reply, Gymkhana was bowled out for 191 in 41.5 overs with Ankush Jaiswal (3/31), Shreyas Gurav (3/34) and Arjun (3/41) taking three wickets each as MIG Cricket Club defeated Islam Gymkhana by 194 runs in a second-round Group A match of the 73rd Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament.

Arjun has also been included in the list of players for the IPL auction, set to take place in Chennai on February 18.

Noteworthy, Arjun made his Mumbai debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last month. The all-rounder was also among the shortlisted players for the IPL 2021 auction set to be held on February 18 in Chennai and his latest performance will certainly boost his chances in the mini-auction.
