Congress politician Shashi Tharoor has expressed shock over the sacking of Sanju Samson as the captain of the Kerala domestic team for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.
The newly appointed Rajasthan Royals' skipper Sanju Samson led Kerala in the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21. A disappointing performance from the side might have made the selectors and authorities in charge take the call of making Sachin Baby as the captain and Vishnu Vinod as his deputy.

Congress Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Tharoor has always been a fan of Sanju Samson and he never fails to express his opinion about the wicketkeeper-batsman.
This time too, Tharoor took to Twitter to tell the world that he was stunned by the drubbing of Samson. Not only that, but he is also disappointed with the fact that pacers KM Asif and Basil Thampi have not found a place in the Kerala squad for the domestic one-day tournament.
He tweeted, "Stunned to see that Kerala has dropped @Im_SanjuSamson as captain despite his stellar performance in the MushtaqAli trophy. The team list has no room for Asif or BasilThampi, two of the best pacers in the state, nor the marvellous batsman RohanPrem. Pettiness is self destructive!"
