Natarajan was recently part of the Australia tour where he made his debut for India in all three formats. The fast-bowler had a memorable year as he made an impact in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) for Sunrisers Hyderabad which opened the doors for his selection in the national side.

During the IPL 2020, Natarajan was blessed with a baby girl. The 29-year-old got to see her only after the Australia tour as he was asked to stay with the team as a net bowler for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21.

One man's misfortune turned out to be another man's opportunity as Natarajan got to feature in the last Test after some key players were ruled out because of injury. He managed to pick up three wickets in the historic match which India won to secure the series 2-1.
