Former Indian captain and current President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, has been discharged after his second visit to the hospital in three weeks. He had complained of a chest pain last week and was treated at the Apollo Hospital in Kolkata.

Ganguly had complained of a similar chest pain three weeks ago while working out in the gym and was taken to a local hospital in Kolkata. It was diagnosed that he had suffered a minor heart attack and was discharged after a stent was inserted into one of three blocked coronary arteries.

He felt unwell on Wednesday, January 27 again and a second angiosplasty was carried out the very next day to insert two more stents into the remaining two blocked arteries. The operation was successful and his body gave a positive feedback to the treatment.

Once he was out of danger, he was taken out of the intensive care unit and was shifted to a private room. His health kept improving by time and the doctors were happy with the tests that were carried out on him post operation.

As a result, Ganguly was discharged from the Apollo Hospital on the morning of January 31, Sunday.

It has also been known that the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee visited Ganguly in the hospital on Friday, January 29 after enquiring about his health the same morning.
