India's veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh got himself in trouble on Twitter after sharing a post with an unverified video. He fell for a hoax post that showed the officials pretending to take the vaccine in the video and posing for photos.

Harbhajan raised questions after seeing the clip and tweeted some leaders are misleading people. Later, a Twitter user shared the complete visuals of officials taking the vaccine which made the India cricketer apologize for his tweet.

"In reality, this is how some of our leaders are taking the vaccine. Picture khich gayi ok good," Harbhajan wrote in a tweet which he later deleted.

The Twitter user told Harbhajan to apologize and share the truth as well to avoid any misunderstanding among his followers. "My Apologies guys didn’t check the facts," he clarified on Twitter.

Earlier, the district magistrate of Tumakuru district had clarified about the viral video and pictures. Speaking to India Today, he said, “The officials you see in the video did take the vaccine. The vaccination process that day was delayed due to technical reasons. For instance, the Co-Win application was not automatically allotting the sessions to registered candidates and officials had to do it manually.

"But the media could not wait till the official vaccination process began. That’s why the officials posed in that way. Later, all of them were vaccinated. We have also submitted a report on the matter to authorities concerned," he said.

This is not the first time Harbhajan has made a controversial post regarding the vaccine on Twitter. Last year in December, he had suggested that Indians don't need vaccines before they have a better recovery rate than the success rate of vaccines around the world.
