Virat Kohli's Test captaincy has come under scrutiny after Team India's superifical performance against Ajinkya Rahane in the recently concluded Test series in Australia. A divide has been created among fans that want to see Rahane replace Kohli as the skipper in the longest format of the game.

Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg is not really among those as he believes that a change of captaincy could break the togetherness of this Indian team unwillingly. Also, Virat Kohli as captain performed even better with the bat than when he had no leadership role.

Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel, "He (Virat Kohli) bats better when he is the captain. I think if you change it, it would destroy the culture of that Indian team. It might affect Kohli's batting. He wouldn't want it to happen, but it will happen."

Hogg praised Rahane's captaincy skills in Australia but still opined for him to remain the captain's deputy for the future series.

"Yes, Ajinkya Rahane has done a fantastic job in the last three Test matches in Australia. He is cool, calm, collective. He is quite decisive, and he doesn't get agitated. He is a fantastic leader. But I will leave him as vice-captain because I think Virat Kohli leads from the front," Hogg added.

Virat Kohli will return as the captain of India's Test team for the home series against England that is scheduled to start on February 5.
