South African captain Quinton de Kock was impressed with Pakistan's security arrangements and said top-notch security surrounding the squad since their arrival in Pakistan at the weekend has allowed them to concentrate fully on cricket.

After completing a dominating whitewash against Sri Lanka in a home series Quinton de Kock-led South Africa are all set to face hosts, Pakistan, in their homeland after 14 years.

South Africa will play a two-match Test series, 1st of which will be played in Karachi starting on January 26, followed by the three T20Is from February 11 to 14.

Pakistan went years without playing home games after militant Islamists attacked the team bus of the Sri Lankan side in 2009.

Referring to the security arrangements Proteas skipper, Quinton De Kock said "When we were coming here, obviously, security was a concern - if not the biggest concern."

Quinton De Kock however was impressed with the Pakistan security arrangements and said that after seeing security we became calm and were able to focus more on cricket.

"When we landed here we saw the amount of security... we became a lot calmer. It became less of a worry and we were able to focus more on cricket. It looks like all corners are checked all bases covered, touch wood. At the moment we feel safe. There is a lot of security, so now we are just worrying about cricket." said Quinton de Kock in a virtual press conference.

Reflecting his views on the conditions in Pakistan, De Kock admitted that playing conditions in Pakistan were unknown for the squad and said that they know that spins play a big part in the subcontinent and they will have all their bases covered.

“We do understand that spin plays a big part in the subcontinent so we will have all our bases covered,” he said.

The 21-player squad led by Quinton de Kock is being kept effectively in a bubble at their Karachi hotel as a precaution against the coronavirus but can train at a nearby club ground.

Due to rising cases of coronavirus in Pakistan, all the matches between the two teams will be played behind closed doors.
