India's legendary leg-spinner Bhagwath Chandrasekhar suffered a stroke in Bengaluru and had to be admitted to a local hospital on Friday, January 15.

The 75-year-old former cricketer is currently admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward and his condition seems to be stable at the moment. Chandrasekhar had complained about suffering from fatigue and his speech also seemed to be losing track, as a result of which, he had to be taken to a hospital immediately.

Vinay Mruthyunjaya, a spokesperson of the Karnataka State Cricket Association said, "Former cricketer BS Chandrasekhar admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru. He is in ICU and is stable."

Bhagwat's wife, Sandhya Chandrasekhar, revealed the sickness and the symptoms that he showed about the stroke while watching a match. She has also given a very relieving piece of information that the former leg-spinner is supposed to be discharged in a couple of days.

Sandhya told ANI, "BS Chandrasekhar is admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru. He was fine and was watching the match when he suddenly complained of fatigue and slurring in speech. So we took him to the hospital. He is fine and will be back home in two days."

Chandrasekhar played 58 Tests for India and picked 242 wickets at an average of 29.75 and a strike rate of 63.22. He picked 16 five-wicket hauls in the longest format of the game including a couple of 10 wicket-match hauls.
