The vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Rajeev Shukla has been in the news for the last 5 days. Earlier, he was taken to the cleaners by Indian cricket fans for expecting an even better performance from the batting order in Sydney Test.
And now, he has been given a notice for a 'conflict of interest' case.
Former Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association member Sanjeev Gupta filed the complaint against Shukla with BCCI's Ethics Officer Justice (Retd) DK Jain.
The order read, "A Complaint has been received by the Ethics Officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (for short "the BCCI") from Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, under Rule 39(2)(b) of the Rules and Regulations of the BCCI, regarding certain acts, allegedly constituting as "conflict of interest" against Mr. Rajeev Shukla."

"Before proceeding further on the Complaint, I deem it necessary to ascertain the stand of the BCCI and the person complained against -- Mr. Rajeev Shukla on the said Complaint," it further mentioned.
To proceed with this case, the BCCI and Rajeev Shukla have to file a written response in the next two weeks from Thursday, January 14.
This is not the first time that Sanjeev Gupta has filed a conflict of interest case against people involved with the BCCI.
He filed a case against the current Indian captain Virat Kohli last year, after already doing so against VVS Laxman and former Indian captains Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sourav Ganguly, who is now the BCCI President.
