"ICC didn't recognize my 100mph deliveries because I'm from Karachi," says Mohammad Sami

Sami's fastest delivery crossing 100 mph was not recognized because of inaccuracy in speed gun.

Former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Sami has claimed he bowled the fastest delivery in cricket. Sami feels he faced injustice from ICC and his record-breaking delivery wasn't recognized by the international cricket body.

Speaking on Samaa TV, Sami said ICC ruled out his fastest delivery stating the speed gun was not working properly and he feels the reason could be him being from Karachi.

“I bowled 100 mph twice in international cricket but they didn’t recognize it because I’m Karachite, I took 3 wickets in 4 overs but they changed my spell because I’m Karachite,” Sami was quoted as saying by journalist Shoaib Jatt on Twitter.

Further in the video, Sami talked about his contribution to Pakistan cricket and the fake allegations of match-fixing to pull him down. He pleaded to the cricket committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board to help him start the second innings of his cricket career.

The incident happened when India tour to Pakistan in the year 2004. Sami had bowled a couple of deliveries clocking over 100 miles per hour; one to Rahul Dravid and another to Sourav Ganguly.

Currently, the record to bowl the quickest ball is held by Shoaib Akhtar, who clocked 161.3kph against England during the 2003 World Cup.
