Former India captain and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was admitted to a Kolkata hospital on January 4 after complaining of chest pain and dizziness. He was diagnosed with a heart attack and three blocked arteries.
The doctors performed an angioplasty and Ganguly was reported to be doing well and recovering fine. He received wishes from all over India and the world with many dignitaries including West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar visiting him to check on him and PM Narendra Modi calling to check about his health.
"Sourav Ganguly is now stable. He has undergone angioplasty. There are two more blockages in his heart for which he will be treated with angioplasty during this admission," said a doctor of the nine-member medical team led by cardiologist Dr. Saroj Mondal.
"A stent insertion has been done as 90 percent blockage was found in one of his arteries. He will be released this time. He has been advised to take rest at home. We will take the next call later," the doctor added.
However, there were some trolls on social media, who took this opportunity to take a dig at Ganguly’s endorsement for cooking oil, which is said to be beneficial for the heart.
Ganguly appears in the advertisements for Fortune Rice Bran cooking oil, which is manufactured by Wilmar Adani Ltd, owned by Gautam Adani.
Therefore some trolls used this endorsement from Ganguly and took a dig at his health saying that he should have practiced what he preached.

However, former India pacer Dodda Ganesh, who was once an India teammate of Ganguly, called out such miscreants and asked them to get a life. He mentioned that a heart attack can happen to anyone and that no cooking oil can actually guarantee you a good and healthy heart.
"No cooking oil can guarantee you a good healthy heart. People who’re using @SGanguly99’s present medical condition to take the mickey out of him and drawing pleasure, need to get a life. A heart attack can happen to anyone. Period #SouravGanguly," Ganesh tweeted.
