Akhtar decided to go with the in-form batsman and captain Kane Williamson. While a lot of fans agreed to Akhtar's choice based on current form and captaincy skills, a lot of fans of Virat Kohli and Joe Root weren't happy with the opinion of the Pakistan legend.
It did come as a surprise for Kohli fans, who are habituated to seeing Akhtar praise the Indian captain and asking Pakistan batsmen to learn from him.
