PM Modi calls Sourav Ganguly to enquire about his health, wishes BCCI boss speedy recovery

The procedure was performed at the Woodlands hospital in Kolkata and the doctor has confirmed that the former India skipper is currently stable.

Regarded as one of India’s finest captains, Ganguly’s health news has been the talk of the town for the past 48 hours and personalities from different quarters are wishing him a speedy recovery on social media platforms.

According to a PTI report, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (January 3) spoke to Ganguly and enquired about his health.

Official sources said Modi also spoke to the BCCI chief’s wife Dona Ganguly.

Sourav Ganguly was rushed to the hospital on Saturday afternoon as he felt dizzy and experienced chest pain while working out at the gym. He was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries after which a stent was inserted in one to remove the blockage.

Ganguly represented India in 113 Tests, 311 ODIs and scored over 18000 international runs with 38 centuries.

Under his leadership, Indian cricket reached new heights over a period of five years (2000-2005). From qualifying to the finals of 2003 World Cup, sharing the 2002 Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka, winning the 2004 Test series in Pakistan and drawing Test series in England and Australia – Team India achieved it all and a lot more with Ganguly at the helm of affairs.
