Karachi Kings have appointed the former South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs as their head coach. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 winner was previously coached by Dean Jones, who passed away during his commentary stint in IPL 2020 at Mumbai.
The franchise shared the update on their official social media account. Joining hands with Gibbs, Karachi lauded him as one of the players who changed the nature of the game with his aggression.
"He changed the way the game was played with his aggression & passion and taking it into his coaching as well. A great believer in the strength of teamwork & discipline, the #karachikings are proud to announce our new Head Coach @hershybru. Welcome to the family, Gibbsy! #PSL," the franchise tweeted.
Karachi Kings won their first PSL title last year after beating Lahore Qalandars in the final by five wickets. They were coached by Wasim Akram in the playoffs after the unfortunate and sudden demise of Jones.
