Former Indian captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is completely out of danger after suffering a mild heart attack post-workout on Saturday, January 3.
Ganguly underwent an angioplasty yesterday at the Woodlands hospital in Kolkata. He has been reported to have three blocked coronary arteries and a stent was inserted in one of them to counter the blockage.
A medical report from the hospital has revealed that his blood pressure is 110/70 and the oxygen saturation level is 98 percent. It also stated that a routine ECG check-up will be conducted on Sunday, January 4.
A bulletin issued by the Woodlands hospital read, "He had an uneventful last night and presently Afebrile (not feverish)... He is sleeping now. A routine ECG will also be conducted on Sunday morning."
One of the doctors that is treating the former cricketer is of the opinion that he might require another angioplasty, which will be decided after observing his condition. However, he also gave a piece of good news stating that Ganguly is out of any danger.
The doctor said, "He will be requiring another angioplasty because of the triple vessel disease. But, that depends on how his condition is. He is, however, out of danger now."
The BCCI President was rushed to the private hospital in Kolkata yesterday after he complained of chest pain post his workout in a local gym.
