"MS Dhoni hasn't done that well to be in ICC T20I team of the Decade," says Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra said that ICC's T20I team of the decade doesn't make sense.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra doesn't see MS Dhoni fitting into the ICC's T20I team of the Decade. The former India captain has been included in the T20I XI of the decade along with Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.

Chopra, in his Facebook video, said Dhoni hasn't done well enough in T20Is to deserve a place, and neither he led India to a title win. He also pointed out that England batsman Jos Buttler should have been a part of the team.

“I am slightly intrigued because if you talk about T20Is in this decade, neither has India won anything nor has Dhoni done that well in T20Is. We are making a T20I team and it does not have players like Jos Buttler etc.”, said Chopra on Dhoni being picked as the captain of ICC's T20I team of the Decade.

No Pakistan player got a place in any of ICC's team for this decade. Chopra was disappointed in seeing Pakistan players missing out. "

My major bone of contention is that it seems they have not made the T20I team at all. They are making the team of the decade and it is not only about the Pakistani thing why none of their players are there but it just doesn’t make sense,” Chopra added.

Another flaw in the T20I team of the decade is the lack of bowling options. There are only three main bowlers; Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rashid Khan, and two part-timers; Kieron Pollard and Glenn Maxwell.

“A T20I team generally has 5-6 batsmen and then should have five bowlers at least. It is even better if there are 6-7 bowling options,” the former batsman added.
