Virat Kohli named ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade, also wins Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade award

The governing body of cricket bestowed the Indian skipper with two major awards.

On Monday (December 28), the governing body of cricket bestowed India skipper Virat Kohli with the Male Cricketer of the Decade award.

In this time period (2010-2020), Kohli amassed 20,396 runs across all formats of the game at an average of 56.97 with 66 centuries and 94 fifties. He was also part of India’s 2011 World Cup triumph at home.

The ICC also named Kohli as the Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade for his stupendous performance in the 50-over format.

In this time frame (2010-2020), Virat was the only player to amass 10,000-plus ODI runs at an average of 61.83 with 39 hundreds and 48 fifties. He also took 112 catches in the 50-over format in the past decade.

Apart from being the World Cup winner in 2011, Virat Kohli was also part of India’s 2013 Champions Trophy-winning campaign.
