Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar is known for his controversial statements involving both his own country and the rivals India. He has shown love for India and Indian cricketers when he promoted his autobiography; but on some occasions, he has blasted India over the Kashmir issue.

Now an old video of Akhtar is doing rounds in which he is explaining Ghazwa-e-Hind or the war to capture India and turn it into an Islamic state. Basically, Ghazwa-e-Hind loosely translates to a Prophetic battle for India.

Some Urdu scholars claim that it is a prophecy which claims that Muslim warriors will conquer the Indian sub-continent after a battle with Hindus. However, many scholars say that this theory lacks credibility and is wrong.

During an interview with Samaa TV, the Akhtar can be seen explaining the Ghazwa-e-Hind, "It is written in our scriptures that Ghazwa e Hind will take place. The river in Attock will be colored red twice with blood. Forces from Afghanistan will reach till Attock. After that forces will rise from Shamal Mashriq, different contingents will arrive from Uzbekistan, etc. This refers to Khorasan, a historical region which extended till Lahore.”

“Then those forces will conquer Kashmir, and then, inshallah, they will march onwards," he adds.

In his autobiography, Controversially Yours, Shoaib Akhtar had claimed that Indian batting genius Sachin Tendulkar was scared to face him. This fact was reiterated by Shahid Afridi as well, who said that he saw Sachin trembling while facing Akhtar.

"I bowled (Sachin) a particularly fast ball which he, to my amazement didn't even touch. He walked away! That was the first time, I saw him walk away from me-- that, too, on the slow track at Faisalabad. It got my hunting instincts up and in the next match I hit him on the head and he couldn't score after that", Akhtar wrote.
