A woman based in Lahore has accused Babar of promising to marry and sexually exploiting her.

Babar Azam | GettyBabar Azam's legal counsel has put forward an accusation on Hamiza Mukhtar, a Lahore-based woman, of blackmailing his client and further demanding Rs 10 million to withdraw her allegations of sexual exploitation, fraud and harassment against the Pakistan captain.

A report by PTI stated, "at a hearing of the sessions court in Lahore on Wednesday (December 23), the legal counsel said that Hamiza resorted to delaying tactics to prolong the trial so that she 'could blackmail and harass'" Babar, the premier batsman and skipper who is currently in New Zealand.

In a petition filed with the court, Hamiza has alleged that Babar had a relationship with her. She also accused him of promising to marry her before also sexually exploiting and using her money.

In response, Babar's legal counsel said this girl had demanded Rs 10 million to drop the case and then reduced her demand to Rs 2 million. But the counsel insisted, as per the report, that the Pakistan captain wouldn't "not pay a single paisa" because "all her allegations were baseless".

"She is trying to defame and harass my client knowing he is a famous personality," he further told the court.

This legal counsel then asked the sessions court to summon Hamiza’s lawyer and direct him to conclude his arguments in the matter.

The court, before adjourning its hearing, issued directives for Hamiza's lawyer to appear and read out his arguments.
