Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Rajeev Shukla is likely to become the vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), reported The Indian Express.

It is also reported that former India cricketer Brijesh Patel will continue as IPL chairman for a second term with the BCCI members deciding not to have an election for the vacant posts, but fill through the unanimous decisions during its upcoming Annual General Meeting

The Indian Express has also reported that the BCCI will choose its vice-president and two members of the IPL Governing Council at its Annual General Meeting to be held in Ahmedabad on December 24.

It is being said that all Indian Cricket Board members have been agreed with the choice of Shukla to appoint the former IPL chief as the next vice-president of the world’s rich cricketing body.

Shukla, who was Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) secretary till 2017 before being named as IPL chairman, will be filing his nomination for the top BCCI post on Thursday (December 17).

Noteworthy, the BCCI electoral officer hasn’t counted Shukla’s term as IPL chairman to decide the cooling-off period as it was considered the BCCI’s sub-committee before the adoption of the Lodha Committee recommendations a year ago and cleared his candidature for the role.
