Dinesh Karthik, Murali Vijay, and Vijay Shankar are on the probables' list of Tamil Nadu for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20. Tamil Nadu released a list of 26 players for the domestic T20 tournament next month.

Along with the India cricketers, batsman KB Arun Karthick, who is returning to play for Tamil Nadu after seven years, and medium-pacer Sandeep Warrier, who moved from Kerala ahead of the season, have also been included in the list.

India off-spinner R Ashwin is currently on an Australia tour, with Washington Sundar and T Natarajan and they won't play because of national duty.

Chairman of selectors S Vasudevan said the probable are picked on last year's performance. "We have chosen the players based on last year's performance. It is a balanced one with a mix of experience and youth," Vasudevan told PTI.

The players will play three practice matches on 19, 20, and 21 December at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and the final squad will be picked on December 21, according to a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) release.

A TNCA official is waiting for confirmation from BCCI on the size of the squad for the tournament because of COVID-19. The tournament is already postponed to January 2021 because of the pandemic.

The tournament will take place in a bio-secured environment from 10-31 January across six cities.
