The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is elated to have a touring international cricket team at home for the first time since March 2020. West Indies have agreed to play a two-format bilateral series in Bangladesh under a proper secure environment.

The Men in Maroon will play 3 ODIs and 2 Tests in Bangladesh in January and February 2021. If the series goes forward as planned, it will be the first feature of international cricket in the south Asian country since March 2020 when Zimbabwe played an all-format series.

"There is no chance of me leading Bangladesh again", claims Mushfiqur Rahim

The chief executive officer of BCB, Nizamuddin Chowdhury told AFP, "We have planned to keep them strictly in a bio-secure environment during the tour. We are now working with West Indies Cricket Board about how the tour could proceed in the best way."

As of now, the visitors will have to undergo a seven-day quarantine before playing a practice game. The practice match will be played on 18 January followed by the ODI leg. The three ODIs will be contested on January 20, 22, and 25.

Dhaka will host the first two games while Chittagong will have the third. The players will stay in the same city to play a four-day warm-up game post the limited-overs series. The first Test will then be played from February 3-7.

The players will again move to Dhaka for the final game of the tour, the second Test match from February 11-15.
