Indian pacer Sreesanth has finally taken a step forward in the return to cricket as India’s two-time World Cup winner is all set to make his first appearance in BCCI’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year.
After serving his 7-year ban for his involvement in the infamous 2013 spot-fixing scandal, the cricketer has been eligible to play cricket since September 13, 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed his return to competitive cricket this year.
Well now, Sreesanth has been named in Kerala’s 26-member squad of probables for the Kerala senior state team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The T20 Championship is scheduled to begin on January 2 – the only domestic tournament that has been confirmed by the BCCI for the 2020-21 season so far.

Apart from Sreesanth, the likes of Sanju Samson, Sachin Baby, and Jalaj Saxena also feature in the probable list of players released by the Kerala Cricket Association on Tuesday (December 15) with the squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy will be picked from the announced 26 players.
Sreesanth – who won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup with India, will take part in a preparatory camp at SD College Ground in Alappuzha from December 20 to 30.
