Irfan Pathan becomes 2nd Indian player to complete 150 wickets and 2000 runs in T20 cricket

Pathan is currently plying his trade for Kandy Tuskers in the Lanka Premier League.

Irfan Pathan | GettyFormer India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who is currently plying his trade for Kandy Tuskers in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), has joined an elite list of players to complete a double of 150 wickets and 2,000 runs in the T20 format.

Pathan is only the second cricketer from India to achieve this amazing feat after spinning all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Pathan accomplished the milestone during Tuskers’ match against Jaffna Stallions in Hambantota on December 9.

In that game, Irfan played a crucial knock of 25 not out off 19 balls to ensure victory for his team. He shared an unbeaten partnership with Asela Gunaratne, who scored 52 runs, to chase down a target of 151 runs with 6 wickets in hand and 5 balls to spare.

Jadeja, who was the first Indian to achieve this feat, had taken 220 matches. On the other hand, Pathan took just took 180 games and he now has 2009 runs along with 173 wickets to his name in the shortest format of the game.

Irfan Pathan announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket in January this year. He represented the country in 29 Tests (1105 runs and 100 wickets), 120 ODIs (1544 runs and 173 wickets) and 24 T20Is (172 runs and 28 wickets).
