Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel on Wednesday (December 9) announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Parthiv announced his decision with a lengthy note.
Parthiv Patel, 35, represented India in 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and 2 T20Is. In domestic cricket, he played for Gujarat in 194 first-class matches.
Parthiv made his India debut in 2002 and created a record by becoming the youngest wicketkeeper in Tests. Parthiv was just 17 years and 153 days old when he played his first game for India.
Although Parthiv started his career on a positive note, he later lost his place in the national side with the emergence of Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni.
