BCCI drop plans to host England in UAE, working on options to stage entire series in India: Report

Both Test and limited-overs series are now set to be on Indian soil.

England are due to arrive in India for a full series | GettyAmid the speculations of UAE being awarded hosting rights for the series, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have reportedly made plans to ensure England's full trip is held within the country.

According to a Daily Mail report, both Test and limited-overs series are now set to be on Indian soil.

The report also claims that in case the COVID-19 situation deteriorates during the new year time, things could be reassessed, with talks between the ECB and their Indian counterpart are now fully focused on a full bilateral tour.

Apart from organising the matches in UAE, there was also an option of England being based in one region or city for a full Test series, with matches being played at multiple stadia within a reasonable drive.

However, that option has also been shelved and the BCCI are now working on a schedule based on the teams moving about the country.

As per the report, one of the four Tests is certain to be held in the new ground in Ahmedabad.

The England cricket team will travel to India after completing their Test assignment in Sri Lanka for a series which will begin in February. The white-ball series will be played in March.
