Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations chairman Akram Khan on Saturday (November 28) revealed that Cricket West Indies (CWI) has sent a two-member team to Dhaka to inspect the COVID-19 arrangements set-up by the BCB for the full series in January.

The CWI Director Dr. Akshai Mansingh and their security manager Paul Slowewill arrived in Dhaka on Saturday to inspect the BCB’s bio-security plans and health protocols for the upcoming full series comprising three Tests, as many ODIs, and two T20Is next year in January.

It is being said the CWI officials are also likely to travel to Chattogram to take stock of the COVID-19 management plans for the series with the duo will stay in Bangladesh till December 3.

The two CWI officials are expected to undergo a COVID-19 test on Saturday and then they can begin their inspection after returning negative for the tests here.

Mr. Akram Khan told ‘Cricbuzz’: “They arrived to come and see our Covid-19 management plan and the security plan ahead of their scheduled tour in January.”

Noteworthy, West Indies team is currently on a tour of New Zealand to play three T20Is and two Test matches. They didn’t have a great start to the tour having suffered a defeat in the first T20I on Friday.
