Model Hasin Jahan, estranged wife of Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami had been receiving threat-calls over the last two months. The calls were made to blackmail her and demand money in return for her private pictures.
Jahan had been receiving those calls from November 22. She initially ignored the calls but later filed a complaint after getting numerous calls. On the complaint filed by Jahan, a person has been arrested from the Canning Station Road area in Kolkata.
A police officer said, "First it was Jahan’s former domestic help who started calling her, demanding money. Then it was a man, claiming to be the woman’s son."
"He was demanding money and threatened that otherwise, he will post her personal photographs and mobile numbers on social media. The person also hurled abuses at her," he added.

The officer also revealed that the police scanned the areas where the calls were tracked and found the culprit. He further said that a case has been started and they are searching for the woman.
"Scanning both the numbers from where she was getting the calls, we picked up the accused on Tuesday night. A case has been started. We are also looking for the woman," the officer stated.
Earlier, Jahan had received death and rape threats because of her posts on the historic Ram Mandir verdict.
Mohammad Shami is currently in Australia preparing for the bilateral series down under starting from Friday, November 27.
