Priya Punia, India women's cricketer, calls Virat Kohli one of her cricket idols

Priya Punia made her international debut for India last year against New Zealand women.

India women's cricketer Priya Punia named India men's captain Virat Kohli as one of her two cricketing idols. Kohli has been a role model for many budding cricketers and it isn't limited to men's cricket only.

Interacting with her fans on Instagram, Punia was asked to name her cricket idols. She responded with the name of Kohli and ex-India captain Rahul Dravid.

In one of the questions, a fan had asked about her marriage plans. The 24-year-old cleared that she has no plans of marriage and currently her only focus is cricket. 

“Pehle desh ke liye to kuch kar le, Shadi ka kya hai, wo to kabhi bhi ho skti hai (let me serve my country first, marriage can happen anytime),” she wrote.

Priya made her debut for India women's cricket team in 2019, featuring in a T20I match against New Zealand women. She has two half-centuries in five ODI matches.
