New Zealand left-arm pacer Trent Boult flew to Christchurch from the UAE right after the IPL Final on November 10. Boult and his national captain Kane Williamson were not sure of playing the T20Is against West Indies starting on November 27.
Eventually, both of them have been rested from the T20I series but will be back to play in the Test series that starts next month. Shane Bond, who was with Boult in the Mumbai Indians camp, believes that it is a good decision to not play the T20Is and come back fresh for the Tests.

Bond told reporters on a conference call, "To fly out of here and go straight into games without seeing his family would have been a massive mistake. I think for his own sanity he needs to get home and spend a bit of time with his family before another busy summer."
Trent Boult had spoken a few days ago that he wants to get his body back in shape for the longer formats and Bond's thoughts were similar to it. The former pacer believes that Boult will get enough time to strengthen up at the high performance centre before the big series.
He said, "Part of the thinking of being here together in quarantine is to get a bit more volume in terms of overs under his belt. So it gives him a bit of time to get some volume here and in the week or two before the test series against the West Indies starts."
