RCB clarifies 'fireworks' after Virat Kohli gets criticized heavily for his Diwali message

Virat Kohli asked his fans to not burst crackers to celebrate Diwali and got trolled heavily.

Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli had posted a video on his social media accounts wishing his fans a very Happy Diwali. In the video, he requested the people to not burst firecrackers.

However, RCB had earlier posted a celebratory video on social media wherein some fireworks were visible in the background in the backdrop of the UAE. Fans sensed hypocrisy and criticized Kohli and RCB for the same.

To clarify the video put out by RCB, they sent out a message on Twitter stating that the fireworks visible in their video were from archival footage of UAE's flag day celebrations.

They wrote, "Hope you are all enjoying a happy and peaceful Diwali with family and friends. To clarify, the fireworks shown in RCB’s recent celebratory video was archival footage of UAE's Flag Day celebrations. RCB continues to work hard to protect the environment like we’ve over the years."

Virat Kohli had said in his video, "Please remember do not burst crackers to protect the environment and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple diya and sweets on this auspicious occasion."
