LPL 2020: Irfan Pathan arrives in Sri Lanka ahead of inaugural Lanka Premier League

Pathan is part of the Kandy Tuskers franchises in the inaugural season of LPL.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has arrived in Sri Lanka to take part in the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL 2020). Pathan will be playing for the Kandy Tuskers franchise.

Sharing the update with his fans on Twitter, Pathan wrote, "In Srilanka for the #LPLT20 looking forward to this new journey... #cricket."

The ex-India cricketer will share dressing with West Indies star Chris Gayle, Sri Lanka's Kusal Perera, and Kusal Mendis. Even England pacer Liam Plunkett was picked by Kandy in the draft. The team is coached by former Sri Lanka captain Hashan Tillakaratne.

Apart from Kandy, the other four teams are from Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla, and Jaffna. A total of 23 matches will be played and the tournament starts on November 26.

Kandy will face Colombo in the opening match of LPL at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. Each day will have double-headers till the semi-finals on December 13 and 14, 2020. The final will be played on December 16.
