Former Australia all-rounder and Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody has on Thursday (November 12) expressed his surprise at the fact that the highly talented and skillful batsman Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t played for India yet.

The right-hander has been unnoticed year-after-year despite scoring tons of runs in domestic cricket, and even this year, he yet again didn’t receive India call for the Australia tour despite scoring over 400 runs in 2018, 2019, and 2020 IPL seasons for Mumbai Indians.

Moody is among the other cricketers who believes that the 30-year-old should have been part of India’s touring party for the upcoming Australia series. He Yadav as his favorite uncapped Indian and was surprised by the fact that Yadav hasn’t yet played for India.

Praising the uncapped star, Moody named Suryakumar as his favorite player of the IPL 2020 and was amazed that how he hasn’t yet played for India. The former SRH coach has described Yadav’s batting technique as high-class, saying he bats with elegance and control.

Moody said in a video on ESPNCricinfo: “Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai Indians, coming at No. 3, it is just mind-blowing to think that this guy has not represented his country. He bats with great grace, control and he seems to do it without breaking a sweat. To me, he’s a real class act.”

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir has also heaped praise on Surya while picking the MI batsman as his player of the tournament. He also lauded his batting quality.

Gambhir signed off by saying, “My player of the tournament would be Suryakumar Yadav because he batted at No. 3 which is a very crucial position and the way he batted. It’s not only about runs, it’s not because he is part of a champion team. It’s just the way he got those runs – with fluency. It was just sheer class and that’s why he is the player for me.”
