Users were searching for Afghanistani cricketer Rashid Khan on Google and when someone searched for his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s name popped up in the results. No, seriously. There is proof as we attached a screenshot here from Google for your reference.
Just type ‘Rashid Khan wife’ in the Google search bar and Anushka’s name and pictures will pop up.
To be clear, Anushka Sharma is the wife of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and the duo got hitched in December 2017 and are ready to welcome their first child, due in January 2021.
Anushka is a known name in the Indian film industry and has starred in movies like PK, Rab ne Bana di Jodi, Jab Tak hai Jaan, and many more and even produced a few films and web series, Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok in particular.

On the other hand, Rashid Khan, 22, is unmarried. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first-ever Test match against India in June 2018. Thereafter, Rashid Khan trended furiously as news outlets reported Anushka Sharma as his favorite actress, as mentioned by him. That’s the connection between Rashid Khan and Anushka Sharma.
Ever since those incessant headlines of Anushka being Rashid Khan’s favorite actress, Google has been showing Anushka Sharma as Rashid Khan’s wife. The many mentions all over the internet might have caused the Google search engine to goof up. The same way Donald Trump’s pictures show up if one searches for ‘idiot’.
In fact, Rashid Khan is not married and asked about it, said during an interview in July that he will “get engaged and married once Afghanistan wins the cricket World Cup”.
