The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought advice from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on creating a bio-secure environment for the forthcoming series against Zimbabwe next month – which will mark the return of international cricket in Pakistan after Coronavirus-forced shutdown.

The Zimbabwe cricket team is scheduled to reach Pakistan on October 20 to play limited-overs series in Multan and Rawalpindi amid the COVID-19 Pandemic and for the series, PCB is seeking advice about creating a bio-secure environment, revealed a source.

In the COVID-19 era, all cricket matches have been playing at the bio-secure environment and empty stadiums under strict COVID-19 protocols and guidelines across the world.

Now, Pakistan is planning to resume the international cricketing actions in the country at the bio-bubble after England successfully hosted the West Indies, Men in Green, Ireland, and currently Australia.

A PCB source revealed: “These two venues are under consideration since both will be hosting the National T20 Championship in a bio-secure environment because of Covid-19 restrictions.”

He also claimed the PCB is taking the upcoming Zimbabwe series very seriously, as it will create a parameter of organizing international series in Pakistan against other international teams in prevailing conditions due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Noteworthy, the PCB will take a call on whether to invite South Africa for a series before the 2021 season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) begins in February or visit the rainbow nation after the PSL 6 ends in late March 2021 after deciding dates for Pakistan and A teams tour of New Zealand in November-December with the domestic season will be in full swing from late September to February.

The board was also hopeful that New Zealand, Australia, and England will visit Pakistan in the next 20 months according to their FTP plans.
