Veteran India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Harbhajan Singh has filed a complaint about fraud against a Chennai based businessman. He gave a loan to the businessman named G Mahesh.

The issue got highlighted after the businessman approached the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case. The bail was filed through his counsels K Surendar and Chenthoori Pugazendhi, which is pending before the Madras high court now.

The India cricketer met Mahesh in Chennai through a common friend. As per Harbhajan's complaint, he paid four crores to Mahesh as a loan. Later when the cricketer tried to reach the businessman, he delayed and avoided repaying the money.

Even a cheque of Rs 25 lakh was issued by Mahesh to Harbhajan on August 18, bounced due to insufficient funds.

Mahesh, in his affidavit, stated that he issued an immovable property at Thalambur as security before getting a loan from Harbhajan. Later, a general power of attorney deed was also executed in Harbhajan Singh’s favor in 2015.

Harbhajan is not playing the upcoming IPL 2020 citing personal reasons.
