ENG v AUS 2020: Jos Buttler to miss 3rd T20I; leaves bio-bubble, but will return for ODIs

England have a 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series against Australia.

Jos Buttler | APJos Buttler, England’s star batsman in the ongoing T20I series against Australia will not be available for the upcoming third match of the series, as he has left the secure bio-bubble of the team, the ECB said in a statement.

Buttler hit 77* in the second T20I, which his side won by 6 wickets to go 2-0 up in the three-match series.  He had previously made 44 in the first T20I, which England had won by 2 runs. As per the ECB statement on its website, Buttler has left the secure bubble to be with his family.

ENG v AUS 2020: "Jos Buttler's someone we're going to have to plan for", says Mitchell Starc

He will, however, return for the three ODIs that follow the T20I series, subject to testing for COVID-19. He is expected to enter the bio-bubble, if he tests negative for the virus, on Thursday ahead of the first ODI of the Royal London Series at Emirates Old Trafford on Friday.
