Former Indian batsman and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Suresh Raina took to social media on Tuesday (September 1) to reveal the details of the “beyond horrible” attack on his relatives that led him to withdraw from the entire 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the UAE.
Raina flew back to India on Saturday (August 29) which led to a lot of rumors that the star cricketer was unhappy with no balcony in his hotel suite, as well as, the buzz around the brutal attack by an unknown group of robbers on his relatives in Pathankot.
Well, Raina has on Tuesday finally broke his silence on Twitter to put a full stop on all the speculations doing the rounds with the nerve-wracking post, revealing that his 58-year-old uncle and one of his brothers died in the attack while his aunt (Bua) is on life support and in a very critical situation.
Raina wrote on Twitter: “What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support.”
Meanwhile, following Raina's heart-wrenching Twitter post, his IPL franchise CSK came up with a heartwarming post for Raina and his bereaved family.
CSK tweeted: “Stay strong Chinna Thala, all the #yellove to you and the family.”
