Suresh Raina urges Punjab CM for help, says “My uncle was slaughtered and aunt on life support”

In a violent attack, assailants killed his uncle on the night of August 19 and severely injured other members of the family, including Raina’s aunt.

Raina, who was supposed to play in the upcoming IPL 2020, returned home citing personal reasons, and this attack on his relatives in Punjab is thought to be one of those reasons. The 2011 World Cup winner took to Twitter and urged Punjab Chief Minister, Capt. Amrinder Singh and the Punjab Police to look into this matter.

He also gave an update on the situation of his family members and mentioned that his aunt was still serious and one of his cousins passed away due to the injures he suffered.

Earlier reports had suggested that Raina's 58-year-old uncle was killed by the robbers on the midnight of August 19 while he was sleeping on the terrace. In the attack by robbers, 4 other family members were severely injured. Raina confirmed the incident saying his uncle died in the fatal attack.

The UP-born added that "those criminals should not be spared" and stopped from doing further crimes.
