Indian women team's wicket-keeper Sushma Verma recently revealed that she used to be an avid Mumbai Indians fan until the 2013 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but has now stopped watching the league after the retirement of the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Tendulkar has been the idol of Indian cricket fans for decades and still enjoys a huge fan following across the globe despite retiring from the game in 2013. Following Tendulkar's retirement, many fans stopped watching cricket and Sushma is among them.

Admitting her admiration for the master blaster, the 27-year-old recalled an incident when she had to go back home disappointed from Dharamsala. she traveled to Dharamsala to watch Tendulkar play for MI in the IPL, but he didn’t come to play having retired from cricket after the 2013 season
Sushma told IANS: “I don't watch much of the IPL now. I used to watch Mumbai Indians play when Sachin used to be a part of it. I do admire Sachin Tendulkar a lot. Actually, Mumbai Indians had come to Dharamsala to play and I was hoping to see Sachin play. But Sachin did not turn up to play. So, after that, I decided not to watch it again.”
The wicket-keeper batswoman, who has so far played 1 Test, 38 ODIs and 19 T20Is, is also a big fan of recently retired MS Dhoni. She also remembered her first meeting with the former Indian skipper.
Sushma signed off by saying, “I have met Dhoni with the whole team and I introduced myself to him and told him that I am too a wicketkeeper. Then he told me to keep up the good work. I like his style of batting and he was a great Indian captain.”
