WATCH: Lt. Colonel MS Dhoni's first para jump with the paratroops

Former India captain MS Dhoni decided to call it a day after being a part of Indian cricket since 2004. He received best wishes for his new innings from cricketers, Bollywood, and even politicians. Even the veterans from military posted messages for the 39-year-old.

Dhoni, who holds the rank of honorary lieutenant colonel in Indian Territorial Army, had completed a para jump from a military transport An-32 aircraft back in 2015. Brigadier R S Pathania shared a video of Dhoni's jump which remained unseen for fans until now.

"Dhoni the paratrooper. While many celebrities become honorary military officers, few actually try to understand what that means. This man is special. He has brought dignity and honor to the uniform. Salute you MS Dhoni.", he wrote on his Twitter account.

Someone part of the paratroop has to undergo the required number of jumps under the supervision of instructors from Paratroopers Training School to be a qualified parajumper.

Dhoni became part of India's elite force (106 Infantry Battalion TA Para) in 2014, a special force entrusted to carry out operations beyond enemy lines.
